Call for artists: The 2025 DARC Indigenous Residency
May 8, 2025
The Hnatyshyn Foundation is proud to support the DARC Indigenous Residency, a one-month intensive on-site artist residency offered to mid-career Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) artists who are seeking to develop their current practice, experiment with a new medium, or continue an existing project.
The residency will take place at the Digital Arts Resource Centre (DARC) in Ottawa. The program, now in its second year, is now open to Indigenous artists from across Canada.
The residency provides access to DARC’s facilities and equipment and includes up to 16 hours of time with an advisor, an artist fee of $2,500, and a presentation fee of $520 for an artist talk or presentation. Should the recipient not reside in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, they will also receive a housing subsidy of up to $1,500 and up to $1,750 for travel expenditures.
Submission deadline: June 30, 2025
Residency dates: October 1-31, 2025.
The Hnatyshyn Foundation and DARC look forward to providing more opportunities for, and promoting the work of, incredible artists from across Turtle Island. For more details on the application process and supports provided to participating artists, please see DARC’s website.
